This month, the housing market is at 54, showing no change from the October reading, but down from a recovery peak of 58 in August. The index has had no gain for the last four months. The 6-month outlook is still positive where the component is 60. Present sales are strong at 58. Regionally, the West is at 58, which has moved past the Midwest, at 54, putting Midwest in 3rd place, behind the South at 55. The Northeast is at 44 and continues to trail other regions. Lack of available lots and shortages in the construction supply chain continues to hold new home activity down.
