He is responsible for all of the Bank’s activities, including monetary policy, bank supervision and regulation, and payment services. He is also serves on the Federal Reserve’s chief monetary policy body, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). Dennis Lockhart served on the faculty of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service from 2003 to 2007. He also was an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies. Today, he gave a speech stating that the Fed taper might be pushed to next year. He said that said the GDP data “doesn’t make a trend and doesn’t drive me to the conclusion that we’ve had a breakout in terms of growth.”
