According to this weeks Energy Information Administration Petroleum Status Report, oil inventories in the November 29 week fell 5.6 million barrels to 385.8 million due a strong demand. Refineries are operating at 92.4 percent of capacity, which is a 3 percentage point increase from the previous weeks. This is the strongest rate since driving season ended in September. For the second week in a row gasoline inventories rose 1.8 million barrels, distillate inventories ended 5 straight weeks of draws with a 2.6 million barrel build. With the refineries picking up production going into the year end, gas prices should be getting lower. In the recent weeks, gas prices have been at steady lows for the year.
